The X anniversary photo contest "The Most Beautiful Country" has finally ended. It has been held annually by the Russian Geographical Society since 2015. 46 thousand (!) works took part in the competition. We are very happy and pleased to announce that the winner of the "Russia in faces" nomination is a mesmerising photograph of the research vessel "Dalniye Zelentsy". The author of the photo is Murmansk photographer Vitaly Novikov – he once participated in an expedition to Svalbard on board our ship.
This year, the winners of the competition were determined by the Russian Geographical Society President Sergei Shoigu; photographer, author of documentary and scientific educational projects Olga Michi; actor and director Sergei Garmash; actor and director Vladimir Mashkov; Russian cosmonaut Ivan Wagner; Director of visual content of TASS Ilya Lazarev; director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Elizaveta Likhacheva; wildlife photographers Sergey Gorshkov, Marco Urso, Andrew Parkinson and Sasha Fonseca.
We strongly recommend our readers to look at other competition works and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of our vast Homeland, the diversity of all its corners. We also urge you to take part in the XI photo contest, the admission of works for it is planned to open in December 2024. Take pictures of our harsh but charming Arctic, Northerners, flora and fauna, cities and ships – they deserve to be seen and appreciated.
