The website of the Kola Science Center RAS published an article about diamond exploration on the Kola Peninsula. It provides a historical overview of geological searches for diamonds in Russian Lapland and current research by the Geological Institute of KSC RAS on potential diamond-bearing areas in the region, including marine areas around the peninsula, particularly the White Sea.
In 2003, MMBI RAS participated in one such expedition aboard the research vessel "Dalnie Zelentsy". This comprehensive expedition included not only geological surveys in the White Sea conducted jointly with KSC RAS geologists but also marine monitoring and data collection for analyzing and forecasting oceanographic and ecosystem processes.
