Within the framework of KSC RAS periodical edition "Transactions of the Kola Science Centre", the Institute prepared and published the fourth issue of the "Oceanology" series dedicated to results of MMBI complex expedition to the Barents Sea on RV "Dalnie Zelentsy" in spring 2016. Most of the articles are devoted to the analysis of a unique material obtained on seven sections made at the ice edge in the northern part of the Barents Sea. Also, modern data on oceanography and hydrobiology is presented on the standard section of the Kola Meridian, in coastal zones of Novaya Zemlya and the Kola Peninsula and on the section "Through trenches". The collection consists of 12 scientific articles.

The monograph presents results of phytoplankton communities in the Black Sea northeastern part of long-term studies. Original data on species diversity, abundance, biomass, spatial structure, specifics of seasonal and interannual dynamics are given. Details of water masses hydrological and hydrochemical structure are considered. Special attention is paid to invasions of alien microalgae species associated with ships' ballast water and impact of anthropogenic pollution on planktonic algocenoses.
