The monograph presents results of zooplankton communities of the Barents, White, Kara, and Greenland seas long-term studies. Based on their own and published data, an analysis of the taxonomic composition and structure of zooplankton communities in the Arctic seas were carried out. Materials on quantitative distribution, population structure, mortality, reproduction features of mass copepods representatives in the Barents Sea are presented. Seasonal dynamics of abundance, biomass, and production of zooplankton communities in the coastal zone of East Murman was studied. A comparative study of mass copepods life cycles of the Barents and White Seas has been carried out. On the basis of original design data, modern estimates of zooplankton communities production potential of the Barents Sea are made. Interannual dynamics of biomass, products, biodiversity, trophic and dimensional structure of Arctic marine zooplankton in connection with climatic and feeding conditions, as well as predator press was studied in detail.

Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference "Arctic marine management in XXI century – a modern scientific balance between tradition and innovation" held by Murmansk Marine Biological Institute in April 2015 and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Institute are presented. Participants of the conference consider issues of species diversity and productivity in biotic systems, marine geology, and paleoecology, dynamics and evolution of populations, communities and ecosystems in the context of global climate change and the anthropogenic press. The monograph is devoted to coastal marine ecosystems of the northeastern shelf of the Black Sea study, including intensive navigation zones, recreation, the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov, subject to a high level of anthropogenic pollution. Results of heterotrophic bacterioplankton, protozoa (zooflagellates, infusorians), holoplankton, meroplankton, and ichthyoplankton studies are presented. Energy trophodynamic ecosystem models have been developed. General and specific features of their transformation under the influence of intensive anthropogenic impact are revealed. The role of zooplankton in a structural and functional organization of such ecosystems is shown.

Results of microphytoplankton community biodiversity of the Kola Bay long-term studies are presented. Species lists of microalgae containing original data on species not mentioned earlier in the algal flora of the Kola Bay are given.
Abundance parameters were estimated. Features of spatial distribution, a course of seasonal and annual dynamics of pelagic algocenosis and plant pigments of the Kola Bay were studied. A unique phase of euglenial algae "flowering" in the cycle of the bay algocenosis development, which has no analogs in the cycle of development of the Barents Sea phytoplankton was revealed. The basic, structure-forming complex of oceanological characteristics with respect to the pelagic algocenosis of the Kola Bay is distinguished. It is intended for specialists in the field of hydrobiology, ecology, marine ecology.

MMBI KSC RAS has been engaged in research of marine mammals of the Arctic for more than 30 years. A significant amount of fundamental knowledge and practical experience has been accumulated, including the work with endemic species of seals (the family of true seals: Greenland and gray seal, ringed seal, sea hare).
The book reveals results of physiology, biology, and behavior of Arctic seals studies. Construction principles and technical details of biotechnical complex infrastructure that ensure the year-round performance of these works in the Arctic conditions are described. Variants of construction and experience of biotechnical systems operation are presented, main components of which are a man and a trained seal. Much attention is paid to all stages of seals preparation - from capture, taming to general and special training.
