Despite being located practically at the edge of the world, cultural life is in full swing in the Russian settlement of Barentsburg on the Svalbard archipelago. Cultural events also include popular science lectures by various specialists. For example, on July 14, at the Barentsburg Museum, MMBI RAS Laboratory of Ichthyology and Physiology researcher gave a lecture on "Birds of Svalbard: Life in a Changing Environment." In her speech, Natalia Viktorovna spoke in detail and engagingly about the life of birds in this unique Arctic region under conditions of global climate change. The lecture was attended by researchers, employees of the company "Arktikugol," and residents of Barentsburg.
