New horizons of Russian-Norwegian cooperation

September 2, 2016 the representatives of "Akvaplan-Niva" (Norway) Alexey Bambulyak and Rune Rautio made a working visit to Murmansk Marine Biological Institute KSC RAS. During a working meeting with management and academic staff of oceanography laboratory and radio-ecology and environmental engineering perspective directions of Russian-Norwegian cooperation in the field of the environmental situation in the Barents Sea were discussed. In particular, they discussed the working plan for the implementation of the joint project "Development of methods for ecosystem monitoring of bays and the Barents Sea shelf and high-latitude Arctic, scenario modeling of emergencies during transport of oil and radioactive waste and experimental technologies to protect them from contamination in conditions of marine periglacial" under the Federal Program " Research and development in priority areas of Russian scientific and technological complex for 2014-2020 ", as well as continuation of joint radio-ecological research in the coastal zone of the Kola Peninsula.
