MMBI took part in All-Russian festival of science "NAUKA 0+"

1-2 October 2015 the first regional stage of the All-Russian Festival of Science «NAUKA 0+» was hosted in Murmansk. Murmansk Marine Biological Institute KSC took part in it as a partner organization. Staff of the Institute had given lectures at the atomic icebreaker "Lenin" in the talk show "Science: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow". October the 1st a group of curious schoolchildren visited the Institute, where scientific and practical seminar was organized for them "Learn more about the "invisible world", in which nearly half of the planet organisms lives!". The children were able to work with a light microscope, to discover the world with frightening creatures called "parasites", to find out what they look like and what is the difference, what they need to live and how they can help to unlock the mysteries of the past and present of their owners. October the 2nd the Institute participated in an interactive exhibition of the partner organizations of the festival in Center "Lapland". On the interactive MMBI stand schoolchildren and middle and high school students saw the modern scientific equipment in action, learned how to deal with a dosimeter, acquired the skills of studying nature with the help of a variety of microscopes and learn a lot about the marine zooplankton, parasitic organisms, algae-macrophytes of the Barents Sea.
