Director of MMBI academician G.G. Matishov attended the V International Forum "The Arctic: Present and Future", organized by the interregional public organization "Association of polar explorers" on 7-8 December 2015 in St. Petersburg.

The major part of time the director of the Institute spent at the meetings of the State Commission on Arctic and Maritime Board. Academician G.G. Matishov took part in the meetings of the forum working session on "Climate change and its implications for the Russian Arctic", where prospects of mitigating the effects of global warming in the Arctic and possible measures and ways for quick adaptation to changing conditions were discussed.
