28.10.2020-30.10.2020, Murmansk
Situated along the coast of Kola Inlet, the city of Murmansk is Russia's gate to the Arctic and the station of nuclear-powered ice-breakers. It opens the way into the Barents Sea and further to the North Pole and into the Northern Sea Route. This Conference, initially called Research on Svalbard's Environment and in recent years Comprehensive Research on Svalbard and Adjacent Continental Shelf, has been held by the Murmansk Marine Biological Institute (Murmansk, Russia) since 2001. The Conference is the only Russia's science forum devoted to the Archipelago of Svalbard. It is aimed at joining Russian and foreign scientists conducting research on the Archipelago itself and around in the Arctic.
