SCIENTISTS OF THE MURMANSK MARINE BIOLOGICAL INSTITUTE TOOK PART IN THE FIELD WORKS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT MALINOR

Researcher of the Laboratory of Radioecology and Oceanography of MMBI Daria Valuyskaya together with the Norwegian colleagues from Akvaplan-niva (Tromsø) and SALT (Svolver) worked together to study the pollution of the Varanger Peninsula shores with plastic and other types of garbage. Scientific works held from July 8 to July 11 within the framework of the international project MALINOR, whose main goal is to study the main methods of income and distribution of garbage along coasts of Norway and Russia, as well as to describe and map polluted beach areas of the Norwegian, Barents and other seas.
