ABOUT THE NEAR AND FAR MIGRANTS IN THE ARCTIC: A LECTURE IN THE RUSSIAN SCIENTIFIC CENTER ON SPITZBERGEN

Dr Natalia Lebedeva, professor of MMBI gave a lecture on “Modern concepts of bird migration: new technologies - new knowledge” on July 12, 2009, during the seasonal fieldwork around Barentsburg (Spitsbergen archipelago). The lecture was presented in the framework of the permanent lecture hall at the Russian Research Center in Svalbard.

The lecture was met with great interest, held the attention of the audience for about an hour and a half and caused many questions with detailed explanations. The lecture was attended by employees of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, students and graduate students.

The leadership of the Russian Arctic expedition to arch. Svalbard (RAE-S) noted that “such interdisciplinary hearings are extremely useful,” and expressed appreciation to Natalia Lebedeva for her attention to the work of the lecture hall.
